Sergey Momot

President of JSC "DANKO" from 1997 to 2006.

Sergey Momot was born in Donetsk, Ukraine on May 14, 1963.

In 1985 he graduated from Donetsk Polytechnic Institute where he received a Degree in Mining Civil Engineering. In the postgraduate faculty of Donetsk State Administration Academy he received a Bachelor in Ecomomics and Management in 1999.

Sergey Momot is the Doctor of Philosophy and a full member of Economic Sciences Academy of Ukraine and East-Ukrainian Business Academy.

Sergey Momot began his career in August 1985 in the fourth shaft-sinking construction administration of "DonetskShahtoProhodka" trust where he initially worked as a mine foreman and from January 1989 as a shift engineer.

In January 1990 Sergey Momot moved to the construction administration "DonbassShahtoStroy" where he worked in the self-supporting division "Standart" as a Construction Site Supervisor. In August 1990 he moved to the Joint Soviet-German Construction Enterprise "WEBA" to the position of a Construction Site Supervisor. From October 1990 he worked in the Joint Soviet-German Enterprise "Intercomputer" where he held the position of the Marketing Expert, and from May 1992 - Leading Marketing and Sales Expert.

From August 1994 Sergey Momot worked in the private enterprise "Trading and consulting" as a Vice Director. From January 1995 he held the position of Vice President of JSC "DANKO". From January 1997 to April 2006 he headed JSC "DANKO" as President.

Sergey Momot was elected as Deputy of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in March 2006.

In 2001 he was awarded a title "Man Of The Year - 2001" in the category "Industrialist of the Year", and in 2002 he was awarded the government medal "For work and valor". He was honoured with many international, regional and departmental awards, including "Golden Mercury" (1999), "Laurel Wreath of Glory" (2000), "Golden Jaguar" (2000), "Glory for Loyalty to Motherland" of the third grade (2000), "For Labour Achievments" of the forth grade (2000), Cross of Honor "For regeneration" (2001), etc. In 2002 he was awarded "Order of St. Vladimir" of the second grade by the church.

Sergey Momot is married and has a daughter.
